Robert Boyer, MD

Born in Provo, Utah as the seventh of eight children, Dr. Boyer initially attended Utah State University before moving to Southern California to finish his undergraduate degree in Environmental Science at the University of California, Riverside. He went on to complete his Medical Degree at the University of California, Los Angeles in 2010. He was elated to return to the Intermountain West where he completed his residency training at St. Mary's Family Medicine in 2013. Upon graduation, he joined Grand Valley Primary Care where he practiced for 2 years honing his skills prior to leaving in order to be part of the Direct Primary Care movement. Dr. Boyer is passionate about the importance of access to primary care in helping to improve the health of the population and reduce overall medical costs and feels that Direct Primary Care is the method by which this can be accomplished. In 2016, Dr. Boyer founded Trailhead Clinics based on his desire to achieve these ideals. His unique training has taught him the benefit of all types of good medicine whether this comes from modern western medicine, ancient China or centuries of traditional herbal practices. He especially appreciates the flexibility his career in medicine has provided to spend time being active outdoors with his wife and three children.
