Michael Smolak, MD

Dr. Michael Smolak is board certified in Family Medicine. He earned his medical degree in 1999 from the Wright State University School of Medicine in Dayton, Ohio. Dr. Smolak completed his residency training in 2002 at the Cleveland Clinic Fairview Hospital Family Medicine program. After rejoining the Cleveland Clinic in 2005, Dr. Smolak worked in the Strongsville Family Health Center for ten years and then in Avon for the past five years. Early in his career, he completed a National Institutes of Health R25 Post-Graduate Research Fellowship in Practice-based Research Networks at Case Western Reserve University/Case Comprehensive Cancer Center. Throughout his career, Dr. Smolak has been very active in medical student teaching, serving as a clinical assistant professor of medicine for the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine and for the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. Dr. Smolak chose to join Everside Health because the direct primary care model allows him to spend more time focusing on preventive medicine and promoting a healthy lifestyle with his patients. In his personal time, Dr. Smolak enjoys spending time with his wife and five children, playing sports, weight training and running. He is a lifelong Cleveland sports fan. He grew up in the small railroad town of Dennison, Ohio (population: 2,753) located at the approximately 100 mile midpoint between Pittsburgh and Columbus.
