David Smith, MD

David P. Smith MD, FAAFP, is a highly skilled and accomplished physician with extensive experience working in the medical field. He is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine. After receiving his undergraduate and Doctor of Medicine degrees from the University of Mississippi and completing his residency, Dr. Smith went on to hold an array of clinical and physician leadership positions across hospitals and outpatient clinics in Mississippi. In 2000, Dr. Smith founded a family medical and urgent care center that focuses on holistic primary care services for patients of all ages. The clinic earned the Rural Health Clinic Quality Award from the Mississippi Rural Health Association in 2016. Additionally, Dr. Smith has served as a clinical investigator in various medication trials and research protocols throughout his career. Dr. Smith was drawn to Everside Health because he wanted to be able to work in a clinic where there is ample time allotted to provide excellent care for every patient. He takes pride in approaching the care of every patient with a holistic perspective that is both compassionate and comprehensive. Working with the patient to find the treatment that best helps them achieve positive changes in their lives is what he most enjoys about providing medical care. Getting to then see that healthy patient go on to positively affect the lives of others is an added bonus. When he?s not caring for his patients in the clinic, Dr. Smith enjoys landscaping, reading, hiking, kayaking, water skiing, and spending time with his wife and two children. One of Dr. Smith?s most treasured possessions is a plaster mold of his hand holding his daughter?s when she was little.
