    What is SSM Health DirectCare with Everside Health?     SSM Health DirectCare with Everside Health is a new approach to primary care for members enrolled in the SSM Health medical plan. SSM Health DirectCare is an optional benefit, available to members at no cost by SSM Health.      SSM Health DirectCare offers comprehensive primary care services for acute, preventive, and routine healthcare needs, treating up to 90% of your health concerns in one setting ? with no copays or co-insurance. Our goal is to keep you healthy in the first place, and, because we offer 24/7 phone access to your provider and same- or next-day appointments for urgent needs, we can provide immediate relief if you do get sick and potentially save you a trip to urgent care or the ER.     Why is SSM Health offering this benefit?     SSM Health is offering an additional primary care option through this partnership with Everside Health to make it easier for you to access high-quality, cost-effective primary care that fits your lifestyle to help you be healthier and lower your overall healthcare costs.     Who is eligible to sign up for SSM Health DirectCare?     All SSM Health employees and their eligible dependents that are enrolled in the SSM Health medical plan are eligible to enroll and become SSM Health DirectCare members. We can provide care for the entire family, including young children and out-of-state dependents (for ongoing virtual appointments and 24/7 phone access following an in-person comprehensive physical to establish care).     Does enrolling with SSM Health DirectCare increase my healthcare costs?   No, it should do just the opposite. SSM Health covers the membership fee for SSM Health employees and their eligible family members to use this benefit. Most preventive services are at no cost, and most non-preventive services are, on average, at lower cost. There is also no charge for phone, email, or other remote interactions with your doctor.    SSM Health DirectCare services provide a wide array of the most common tests and procedures. Services not covered by the DirectCare membership may be covered by your SSM Health   medical plan.     What are the benefits of enrolling with SSM Health DirectCare?     Designed specifically to save you time and money, SSM Health DirectCare offers unparalleled access to our comprehensive primary care clinics, so you will have the care and attention you and your family need.    Since your membership is included as part of your medical plan with SSM Health, you will have little to no out-of-pocket costs for the primary care services provided in SSM Health DirectCare clinics. Our doctors have 70% fewer patients than a typical primary care doctor, allowing them to spend time with you when you need it, start appointments on time, and provide you with appointment availability in the time frames that meet the urgency of your health issue.     I already have a long-standing primary care doctor, why would I change?     Developing a strong and consistent relationship with a primary care provider (PCP) is fundamental to ensuring long-term health and well-being. If you already have a PCP relationship that is meeting your needs, we encourage you to continue that relationship.    However, if you do not have an established PCP or want to learn more about how SSM Health DirectCare can meet your unique health care needs, please visit . While SSM Health DirectCare providers are fully trained in pediatrics, many parents have an established relationship with a pediatrician. Your DirectCare provider can be another option for your children?s healthcare depending on your specific needs. Your DirectCare doctor is available by phone 24/7, including nights and weekends.     Can my out-of-state dependents enroll with SSM Health DirectCare?     Of course! SSM Health DirectCare is a great option for out-of-state members since we offer virtual communications and 24/7 phone access with your provider for all urgent needs. Out-of-state members must establish care through an in-person comprehensive physical with a DirectCare clinic for virtual communications and phone access to be most impactful.       What happens if I am experiencing an urgent health issue after hours? Or I am away from home?     Simply call your SSM Health DirectCare clinic phone and follow the prompts to be connected to your specific provider. Your provider will answer and respond to your concerns no matter where you are or when you call. He or she is directly available to you for urgent situations 24 hours a day, every day of the week, including holidays. In case of emergency, call 911.     I take a lot of medications. How does SSM Health DirectCare help make it easier for me to manage refills and changes in dosages?     At many of its office locations, SSM Health DirectCare dispenses approximately 50 commonly prescribed medications, including medications for chronic conditions. This means that you can walk out of your appointment with most of the medications you need for acute or urgent needs. The costs for these medications are usually lower than if obtained through a pharmacy, and many generic formulations are paid for in full by SSM Health.      Additionally, many refill requests and dosage adjustments can be handled remotely with your provider and called in to your pharmacy of choice without the need for an in-person office visit.     How is SSM Health DirectCare different from an Urgent Care Clinic?     As a primary care office, you have unlimited access to a medical provider who knows you and your medical history. Guaranteed same- or next-day appointments for urgent needs allows you to get in at your scheduled appointment time instead of potentially waiting for a long time at walk-in clinics, only to see a provider who doesn?t know anything about you. Plus, as a DirectCare member, you are never charged a co-pay for your appointment!
